These rules are in addition to the rules set by the 'Souls Assemblage. If we do not answer something here, it is more than likely it is already mentioned in site wide rules found here. But, of course, when in doubt, ask a leader or a member of the 'SA!

Ranks

The ranks of CDM are a dual tiers system. Courtiers on one end, and the Cavalry on the other. Before entering either set of tiers, you are required to inform the leadership which you would like to take, preferable before you reach that point. Joiners will put it into their joining application.

It is possible to switch types of tier, though we strongly recommend you think about your tier before you take it, as we will only accept some extreme conditions for a switch.

Ranks change with every rank shuffle, and depending on either post count or (rarely) in character achievements you will be promoted or demoted.

Co-Ranks

• Note! Both sides of ranks have a set of co-ranks only they may take.
• Some co-ranks allow for more than one to use that co-rank, while others are for only a single person.
• You must reach the rank of Comte/Comtessa or Squire, or higher.
• You must have at least THREE threads where your character displays the skill required for the desired co-rank.
• Your co-rank threads MUST be finished to be approved.
• You must be an adult member of the pack.
• Younger members may be in training for a co-rank, but a request must be sent to the leaders before they will consider it.
• Once these have been met, you need to PM a leader (Vigilante or Strelein) with the co-rank you desire and a link to the threads where the skills were displayed.
• If you drop below the rank of Comte/Comtessa or Squire, or you are put on NPC status, your co-rank will be removed. You may reapply, but you will need three new threads to do so.

Second Characters

Cour des Miracles is accepting of everyone and are generally lenient with second characters in the same pack. To request it, simply PM one of the leaders (take your pick - go for someone you see online or someone you know is online a lot for a quicker response) to make sure it is okay. Of course, you need to keep in mind the rules that 'Souls has in regards to additional characters in the same pack.

Game points for second characters will be kept in a separate tally from your first. However, the leadership sees no problem with you having the ability to combine your points for prizes!

At the current moment, CdM does not have a rank cap for your second character, so as long as your activity is good enough, then you will not be penalized for having two characters in the same pack by having their ability to be promoted lost.

Dropping

If you are dropping a character from CDM or moving them, you must, must, must tell the leadership of it or else you will get into a lot of hot water. We don't stalk your character, and often enough we miss blurbs in the player update forum. With the new drop thread, we still require a pm even if you post your desire to npc in that thread. If we do not hear about it from you, your character WILL be dropped.

Rank Shuffles

Rank shuffles are done at the end of every month. The leaders keep a list of the minimum post requirements to keep your rank or promote you, as well as the cut-off number for members to be demoted at. If you are the absentee list, this is taken into account while doing the shuffle. There will be an announcement every time there is a rank shuffle. Currently, we have a rotating schedule of who does the rank shuffle.

Mandatory Threads

If there is a mandatory pack thread, it will be pinned and be labelled as such. Failure to make an appearance can, and usually will, result in a demotion for your character or its removal from the pack. Mandatory threads usually only require 1-2 posts from each member and will be kept as short as possible, as they contain important information.

Greeting & Accepting Joiners

Because joining threads should move very quickly and smoothly, there have been a few policies put into place to ensure such a thing will happen. We want new members to hop right in, so these need to be quick!

• If a leader is already in the thread, please do not join. There is no need and it can easily slow things down.
• Those in the Royal Court and Royal House ranks may greet newcomers and accept them.
• Those ranked in the Noblesse or Conclave ranks or above may greet newcomers, but if they are not ranked high enough to accept members, they must call for someone who can and give them a brief overview.
• If some has already greeted the newcomer, please do not join unless it is a member who cannot accept new members and your character can.

Contests

Occasionally, the pack will hold a pack only contest. While it is not mandatory to participate in a contest, there can be very nice prizes. It also shows pride spirit and makes the leadership smile happy smiles. However, if there is a contest that requires voting, we do appreciate pack member participation in the vote.

The Directory

It is highly encouraged you post in the directory thread so that you may have a say in what is said about your character.
